Non-stabilized domestic and exotic wood blanks sized for turning solid-wood rings.

These are selected solid-wood ring blanks cut from domestic and exotic stock. They are not stabilized, so the material behaves like the natural wood species you select rather than resin-impregnated stock.

Average blank size is about 1.5 × 1.5 × 0.5 inches, with multiple species available through the product variants.

About Wood

Working tips: Flood coat with thin CA first to lock the wood, then build with thin coats, wicking the drop that forms on the bottom of the ring between coats. Save the sanding for the end and wet sand the whole way; CA hates heat.

Wood blanks and veneers are the traditional bentwood ring material. Finished with CA glue they are surprisingly tough and beautiful.

Recommended use

You may need a chuck, a boring tool, and cutting tools suited to your type of lathe.

Center and mount the blank using your preferred solid-ring method, turn the interior and exterior to size, then sand and finish according to the wood and finish system you use.
