About this product

M3 Ring Blanks

Real metal suspended in a machinable resin binder for a metallic ring without machining solid metal.

M3 combines real metal with a urethane-based resin binder, producing a blank that has genuine metallic content while remaining straightforward to machine and polish.

The material is formulated for strength and impact resistance and can be finished with familiar ring-polishing methods. Metal or diamond polish is recommended for the final finish.

Working tips: Sand through the grits and polish; the metal particles bring out the shine.

M3 composite is metal powder cast in resin. It turns and sands like resin, then polishes to a metallic sheen.

Recommended use

You may need a chuck, a boring tool, and cutting tools suited to your type of lathe.

Turn the blank using your normal solid-ring process, refine the surface through sanding, and finish with metal or diamond polish to bring up the metallic appearance.
