Stabilized and dyed burl blanks for turning rings with stronger color and more predictable stock.
These premium ring blanks are stabilized, dyed, or double-dyed pieces of burl stock. Current species include Maple Burl and Box Elder.Blank size ranges from roughly 1.25 to 1.5 inches square at 0.5 inch thick, giving you enough stock to establish your own ring profile on the lathe.

Working tips: Turn with sharp tools and take light cuts, then finish with CA for water resistance.
Stabilized wood blanks are natural wood impregnated with resin under vacuum, then often dyed. They are far more stable than raw wood and take a glassy polish.
Recommended use
You may need a chuck, a boring tool, and cutting tools suited to your type of lathe.
Mount and turn the blank as you would other stabilized turning stock, then sand through the scratches and polish or finish according to the surface you want.
